Select an agent. If you have made any significant improvements
or repairs to your home, make copies of any documentation,
plans, permits and bills for the work completed. Locate owner's manuals and warranties for appliances. Obtain a current 'Real Property Report with
Compliance'. Contact your bank for an updated mortgage statement.
Ask about payout penalties. Choose a lawyer. Make copies of your last year's utility bills. Make extra copies of house keys. Consider a fresh coat of paint on the front
door, and make sure locks, hinges and doorbell are in good working
order. Replace any burnt-out bulbs, and use high-wattage
bulbs in all areas of the home. Attend to small repairs. Clear off countertops and remove photos and
magnets from the refrigerator door. Remove all unnecessary items from closets. Have a garage sale! |
